Guess Who?

Well, I've been back from t'other side of the world for over a month, so it's high time I got back into the swing of blogging. My Australian experience was pretty amazing but I won't go into details here, as you can find them at http://emmahelenaustralia.blogspot.com.

I've been pretty busy since getting back, mainly with Sally and Nathan's wedding, news of which was a huge surprise that was announced just before I went away. They'd been planning it for a year and after announcing it mid October, there was only a matter of weeks before the big day on December 8th. I went to Sally's double hen do that comprised of a meal in Preston and then a weekend in York and managed to entertain all and sundry be having a large portion of wardrobe fall on my head (what can I do? I'm just naturally amusing).

I couldn't be happier for them and the day itself was absolutely perfect. Sally was wearing a simple but stunning dress that made her look like a greek goddess. Katie, her bridesmaid also looked gorgeous and the venue was fabulous. Nathan and Sally had been upgraded to the Bridal Suite which had an entertainment centre, 8 foot square bed (Jeez!), big shower, dual baths (set side by side) and for some unfathomable reason, a mini gym. I know I'd find a more interesting way to exercise if it was my honeymoon.

As beautiful as the day was I couldn't help but feel a knot in much stomach everytime I thought too much about the arrangements. I was so disappointed at not being invited to the whole day, when Claire, who'd also known Sally since school, had been. I have some idea why this may have been the case, but nobody has mentioned it yet so I'm waiting and hoping for some kind of explanation. Looking back however I'm glad I pestered Sally to invite me to the ceremony, as for me that is what the whole day is about, not the meal, speeches or evening do. Unfortunately it still cast a shadow over my enjoyment of the day, I just hope it didn't do the same for anyone else.

It's a shame to end on a down note, and telling how gutted I am to miss the Danny Schmidt recital that Scott booked for my sister Katie tonight will not improve matters. However I will point out that it's my graduation on Thursday at 9.45 (See here for the webcast) and my work's Xmas do on Friday, so I have got some things to cheer me up this week.
